This was a graphic design project for a series of health and stress-reduction workshops targeting African American women. The client wanted to have these flyers printed on 4 x 6 card stock to be handed out to potential attendees. I decided on blue as the dominant color and brown for text as reinforcement of the target audience.
I used another of Laura Worthington’s typefaces from the “Adorn” Collection to give a sense of space, relaxation, and elegance to event title “Breathe.” I used the “Brandon Grotesque” typeface for all the body text, choosing regular and italics for variation and for emphasis since we had to convey a great deal of information in a relatively small space. I was also making sure not to place text over the woman’s body on the right of the frame.
