This is a project I am working on for the Rosetta Center for Counseling and Wellness in Sacramento, California. Using Adobe Illustrator I created the flower, or rosette, logo for this local business that is dedicated to health and wellness for women of color. I wanted a logo design that conveyed peace, tranquility, and harmony with nature, in a color palette that was bright, made up of complementary colors, but without being overwhelming. From there I used the same color palette throughout the website, which I extensively customized from a Genesis Framework child theme.
Because I thought the name of the center, “Rosetta,” invoked the ancient Rosetta Stone and brought to mind a certain gravity and stability, I decided to use the “Trajan Pro” typeface (from Typekit) for all my headings. and to use “Lato” (you can find it at Google Fonts) for the body copy for its readability.
I have included a screenshot of the existing website so you can see where our starting point has been. It looks like it was originally created using a DIY website template from VistaPrint.
I am continuing to learn how to use the Genesis WordPress framework, and also how to personalize it to best reflect my clients’ business or personal identities. Stay tuned for further developments on this project for The Rosetta Center. To see where I am on the project you can visit it by clicking here.
